VirtualDatacenters VirtualDatacentersDear JDisc friends,

besides adding new devices, we are always working on larger enhancements and changes. This time we are working on virtualization. So far, JDisc Discovery was able to identify a variety of different virtualization technologies. It was detecting the virtual machines running on physical servers and in many cases their clustering.

We started in Q2 2016 to improve the discovery of virtual environments. The first results of this effors is an improved VMware discovery. The new JDisc Discovery build identifies the VMware datacenters and assigns virtual machines, physical hosts and clusters to the corresponding datacenter.

Users can open the new virtualization browser in order to get an overview over the current virtual environment. The virtualization browser covers all detected virtualization technologies and creates a hierarchy of management servers, datacenters, clusters, physical servers and virtual machines.

The report area always displays details for the selected item within the tree.

Open our download page and test the software right away…

And what’s coming next? As next steps, we will also identify and store virtual machines which are disabled. That’ll make the virtual environment disocvery complete…

Stay tuned…
