Track 5: Device Grouping
This track explains how to use the JDisc Discovery grouping system in order to model your company’s geographical or organizational structure (e.g. networks, domains, specific attributes and more).
This video explains how to define groups, how devices are assigned to groups and how groups are used within JDisc Discovery reports.
Define access credentials for user groups
JDisc Discovery requires access credentials to discover device data in a network. In larger networks, multiple different access credentials often exist. To avoid alerts from Intrusion Detection Systems it is recommended to test as few combinations of user names/passwords as possible.
By using JDisc’s group definitions, you can define the access credentials for a group and consequently reduce the list of possible user names.
