Cisco Meraki Cloud Discovery
Dear JDisc users,
Cisco offers with Meraki a cloud-based management solution for your switches and access points.
Although it is still possible to detect the switches and access points using the SNMP protocol some information (such as the serial number for access points) is only available through the portal.
Therefore, we have implemented access to the Cisco Meraki portal using their REST API. The Cisco Meraki API is already the third cloud technology that is supported by JDisc Discovery.
In order to grant access to the Cisco Meraki portal, simply create an API key and configure this API key in JDisc Discovery’s configuration dialog.
Once the access credentials have been configured and the discovery has been started, JDisc Discovery connects to the Cisco Meraki portal and gathers information about the managed devices.
We gather information about the organizations, the networks and the assigned network devices from the Cisco Meraki API.
