New Feature: Antivirus Software Discovery
Dear JDisc friends,
based on several customer enhancement requests, we have extended our Security Add-On to scan the list of installed Antivirus software together with its enabled state and its updated state. The updated state defines whether the Antivirus definition files are up-to-date. This new feature offers a good overview over the Antivirus software used in your company and their current update state.
As usual, the data collection for Antivirus software can be enabled or disabled based on the customer needs. The data collection tab within the discovery settings offers a new option to enable or disable Antivirus software. The default is „enabled“.
Once the discovery starts doing its job, it will scan the Antivirus software for each and every Windows client on the network. The Antivirus information is accessible from the device details dialog for each device. The Software > Antivirus section lists all Antivirus software together with its enabled and up-to-date flag.
Of course, we have also added some more overview reports listing all installations in your network. We provide the two new overview reports. The Antivirus Installations report lists all devices together with some statistics about how many Antivirus software installations have been found, how many of them are enabled or disabled and how many of them are up-to-date or outdated. You can open this report via Software > Antivirus > Antivirus Installations
The Antivirus Software report lists all Antivirus software installations and statistics about the installations, the installations where the software is disabled and where it’s definition files are outdated.
And of course, you can add Antivirus information to your custom reports.
We hope you like the new feature and are looking forward to get feedback and new ideas!
Cheers,
Thomas
